Vantage 305K Sales Kits

That is not the case. I am using kits all of the time. You do not set
them up as phantom but you do need to add a BOM. You classify the parts
as sales kits and and you state on the kit part number that you want the
components backflushed. You do not have the individual components set to
backflush. You will not have jobs for sales kits; the components are
added as line items to the sales order.

I believe you're Kit Parts need to be set up as non-stock & phantom
("make direct") and you also need to run Order Wizard after sales entry
to generate a sales kit job (that will have no labor OPs).

I seem to recall the parts in each defined kit should also set to
backflush.

somewhere that needs to be done to close out the component lines?

The sales kit functionality isn't working quite the way it was intended
I don't think. Here are some of the issues that I have found with them.

Make sure that you set the Backflush Kit component flag to true on the
part form
You cannot have the component set as backflush
At order entry make sure that the line has the dates entered rather than
entering just on the release (this was a bug that has been fixed in the
latest version of .400
When creating RMA credit memos, the system will issue a credit for the
individual components, not the value of the kit. If the prices of the
components do not add up to the price of the kit, your credit will be
incorrect

There are others, and as I remember them I will continue to keep update
