I am trying to create a custom version of the Pack Slip and need to add a couple of fields. I have followed instructions from posts on here for other reports and manually added the fields to the SSRS dataset but when I try to do this for the Pack Slip I am unable to type anything extra in the expression box. I have also tried updating in Notepad and copying into SSRS but it just cuts off at a certain point. I remember reading somewhere that there is a limit to the number of characters but there must be a way around this to add the custom fields? Thanks.
Are you attempting to update the SQL statement for the SSRS Report?
Can you send a screenshot of where you are?
Modify the report using report builder
Go to the properties of the Dataset
Click the fx button
I checked the box, it looks like it can cater for 32827 in length. How long is your query?

The number of characters from the Sync Dataset (sorry, I know!) is 47295. I have replaced that with the dataset from the original Pack Slip instead, which is much smaller, and added the fields manually as you have shown on your screenshots and I have done on other reports. Thank you both.
