Report Builder and Vantage 6

Progress database, Yep. It is truncating one digit off the end. It gives
these errors(warnings) in Report Builder then runs the report. I have since
found if you run the report from a Vantage menu you don't get the errors. It
appears only Report Builder can't handle the changes.

In updating to VN 6.00, there was change to the CreditOverrideLimit field.
The size was increased to a value that Report Builder cannot read.

Can you look at the database and show exactly what the field specifications
were changed to. I can't believe the database can set a field to a size
progress or report builder can't deal with. Are you running a progess
database?

We are planning on upgrading to Vantage 6 in the near future. I'm converting
all of our custom rb reports. And I'm getting the formatting errors
"WARNING: Format for field XXXXXXXX has to many digits - Format has been
changed"to XXXX whatever. I called this in as the report runs fine once you
click through the formatting errors.

Here's the email response I received:
Cliff,

Currently, there are no plans to change this. The reasons are twofold.
First, Progress will stop supporting Report Builder in the near future.
Second, because this is a limitation of Progress, there is no way a program
fix for Vantage can be written.

As a workaround, I would recommend using Crystal Reports to recreate these
custom reports.

Does anybody but me find this to be an odd statement?

"Second, because this is a limitation of Progress, there is no way a program

Ok, it's a Progress limitation. However, we develop Vantage with ProVision which is a Progress product. The database is a Progress database. Report Builder is a Progress tool.

Am I missing something here???
