Jasper,

The Good News:
Crystal 10 is Vantage 8.0's application of choice.
You can add CRs to the menu structure and automatically have them log into
odbc when they run if you set up the system agent screen properly.
So epicor basically has Crystal 10 reports setup to add to the menu and run
just like Report Builder reports in prior versions it's very slick.
Also you will find you can cut and paste calculated fields from report
builder right into crystal since both are comfortable with "IIF" type
commands.

The Bad News:
There are a lot of schema changes in 8.0 especially in the work center and
machine area.
Machines are now resources and you can have more than one.
This will change how production, quoting, part master file reports are
created.
You need to convert to 8.0 and test and see how this will effect you.
In my case I have each work center equal 1 machine in may shop and don't use
the machines in vantage.
I may have to totally redo my department, workcenter, machine structure to
better fit 8.0.

Steve,

After reading your comment, I was wondering what strategy others are using
with their reports as they convert to version 8. Are people converting the
reports as needed or do you convert them all before you upgrade to version
8?

Is Crystal reports the application of choice? If so, are we able to add
them to vantage menus as easy as report builder?

Thanks,

Jasper
