Sales Gross Margin Report?

No offense taken, I try to use export myself , not only to save IS
resources, but also to gain an insight into where the data comes from. I
think your controller should re-think his approach. Good luck.

Thanks Ron -nothing personal about the "controller" thing-
Yes I am using the export approach, but I have been asked to be able
to Add other fields, and though I can do most of this, it has taken
up Too Much of my time trying to sort through all of the data, as
well as through Many different reports and time frames (I was looking
for a way to speed it up a bit)

Thank you for the Help ---->Kevin Fitzpatrick<------

I am looking for a Sales Gross Margin Report in either Crystal, or RB

My Company just hired a "Controler" (ie: glorified accountant) and he
has asked me to develop a Sales Gross Margin Report , he apparently
does not want to use the one already in Vantage 4 , he also wants me
to be able to 'rearange' 'add/remove' to this same report. He also
has the Idea that I can do Anything with computers (although
flattering, it is not true -YET)

I am currently horrible at developing new reports (but I am getting
better) I am still a beginner at New reports , but I can
easily 'adjust' any other report.

If anyone has any king of SGMR that they are willing to share please
do so either via posting to group, or better to email directly to me
at kevin@... or mailto:kevin@...

Or if there is any other suggestions out there I want to hear them

Why not send to an ASCII file, open in Excel, and massage away? Once
you've got it arranged the way he wants it, THEN you can muddle through
a custom report. (Better yet, show him how to export to ASCII, and
massage it himself.)

Thank You Gail, I have already exported it into Excel, but he also
has dificulty with that approach (what a Tool) I am trying to arrange
it so that 'he' is happy with it. I will just try to keep chipping
away at it until "feenilisashun"

Thank you

Not knowing what you are exactly looking for I have built several
profitability reports in Crystal for Vantage 3.0. The report that I called
Gross margin I can send you a screen shot of the layout if interested or
upload it to the group. It is split up by customer and then sorted by
invoice number. Let me know if you are interested.

As another glorified accountant( Controller, not controler), I can attest
to the shortcomings of the canned reports in Vantage. The Export Utility
can send the data directly to an Excel file for manipulation.
