How about an ASP web page set with a refresh. That way you have the report
and don't use a Vantage license to display it. We do this throughout the
shop showing the machines in the dept and what is running on them, also who
is clock into what jobs. The other nice thing about this is I have the web
pages perform data checks and such, if someone clocked into the wrong
operation for that workcenter or job is closed etc, the screen shows their
data in red which helps flag and makes problem issues visual. I also have a
screen saver that displays these types of reports.

We are currently using vantage 6.0 and daily, at the end of the work day,
I
run a report I created in the BAQ that shows all incoming receipts for
that
day. Is there anyway to created a receiving report that will stay open on
my
monitor and update it self as receipts are in-processed? A dashboard comes
to mind but I am not that proficient and do not know if 6.0 has that
capability. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone ever created a report builder, that sales could use for
forecasting, showing pieces sold by part by customer month-by-month ?

The report would show something similar to this :

Customer Part Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun .....Dec

ABC 456 20 20 20 30 40 50 ....
45
XYZ 123 154 250 150 230 220 250 ....400

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Good morning,

I am trying to create a report for one of my workcenters that shows quantity
produced per machine, per shift, per month. The items we produce can be
either rec'd to stock, shipped on an order, or act as a sub-assembly to
another workcenter. I am using the JOBPROD table, however I do not know how
to specify the previous month as the filter. On other reports I have used
(IFF fiscalperiod =10...)however this does not verify, unrecognized command.
Does anyone have a report like this? If not, can I get some help?

Thanks

I don't see any date fields in JobProd so you're joining to another
table to get the info you want. To get the previous month use
something like " month(today()) - month ( {date field} )" in a
calculation. MonthTest = Iif(month(today()) - month ( {date field}
) = -1, yes, no) and filter on MonthTest = yes. A word of caution
... reports slow down when filtering on a calculated field. You
could avoid that by using {DateField} > 8/31/00 and and
{DateField} < 10/1/00 in the filter and redo the filter each month.

Hope this helps

I have been asked to write a report showing what jobs are currently at work
centers. The priority dispatch report tells us what should be there, but we
want to know what really is there. Before I start I thought I might ask if
anyone has already written a report, either in Report Builder or Crystal,
and would be willing to share it or may something close that I could tailor
to our needs.

Kathy- There is a report in the Crystal Reports section of the group
files called Orders-JobStatus. It shows open orders (up to the due
date parameter) by part number with a sub-report that shows open jobs
with the current work center (first open operation for each job) and
a second sub-report showing the same for the first level of assembly
linked to each part number. If you only want the current work center
info you can use the first sub-report and save it as a report and
that will show you all open jobs.

Hello,

I received a request for a report that shows employee number, employee name,
pay hours, direct labor hours and indirect labor hours. Does anyone have a
report like this? Or, could someone point me in the right direction of
where I can find direct and indirect labor hours information?

Thank you in advance,

There are some sample labor reports on the Epicor site that I believe have some indirect reports to start from.

Jamie,

You can create this report using EmpBasic as your master
table, linking to LaborDtl for the details. Be sure to
join on company and EmployeeNum to EmpID. Sort and filter
by Company first, even if you only have one company defined
in Vantage. And as Troy said, there are definitely some
samples on the Epicor website and in the eGroups library for
you to learn from.

have fun,
John

Does anyone have a report that shows for closed jobs the total sales and
total costs?

Thanks.
Greg
I have asked for this report before and have come to the conclusion no one
has it. The costs are easy just use the jobasmbl table. If you link it to
the Jobhead you can filter it for a date range. I'm afraid I only have a
workaround for the Sales amount. I link the shipdtl table with the invcdtl
table but I can't filter for a date range. So I first run a report using
the gljrndtl table and filter that by period. Then I run the invcdtl linked
with shipdtl table report and filter it by invoice number then I match
invoice numbers to the gljrndtl report. This gets rid of misc non sales
amounts on the invoice and any invoices that aren't for the same period.
When I am all done I basically have put a job number on an invoice. I
update this file every month taking out the completed jobs. I was surprised
that the job number was not in either the invoice header table or the
invoice detail table. The only place I could find a link with the sales
amount was with the job ship table. I find it unbelievable that a so called
jobshop software does not provide a report with sales amount per job for a
given period or job number range. The production detail report is the only
place I have found it totaled, but you have to put in your jobs one at a
time. But I'm starting to rant and it's too late on a Friday to enjoy a
ranting thread.

Ed, I think you need to include the "JobProd" table in your report. JobProd
contains the sources of demand for the job; ie the sales order #, line#, and
release#. Use this info to link to the Invcdtl table. Also link Invcdtl to
Invchead to get the invoice date. The Invcdtl table carries the unit costs
that were assigned to each invoice line so you can add together and then
multiple by the invoice qty to get the costs for each line.

Anyone make anything like this yet?
I need a procedure to setup a report that would allow the user to input
a top assembly part number, the report would then pull and list all
sub-assemblies & details for that top assembly and also provide the
in-stock quantities for each sub-assembly or detail. Also, it would be
helpful, but not required to have the report provide any WIP quantities
along with the current in-stock inventories

James,
I just made a report in Crystal yesterday. User enters a Top Assembly.
It simply lists the BOM materials, including the current OnHandQty and Bin
number. It does not drill down to lower-level Sub-assemblies at this point.
It's basically like a simple pick-list.

For all of you Steel guys, approximately how long would it take a block of
steel 24" x 24" x10" to cool from 325F to 285F with no heat applied and only
the sides exposed to ambient temperatures. To make this easier, pick one of
the choices below.

1. 1 - 5 minutes
2. 5 - 10 minutes

Would those ambient temperatures be below or above freezing?

Since only the sides are exposed what's above and below? More steel at
325F?
