Scheduling and Production Activity

I recently found the Production Activity Maintenance, Production Activity Plan, Production Activity Week, and Production Activity Day forms. I had been working towards scheduling without knowing about these forms. The help files don’t seem very helpful regarding the purpose of these.

Can anyone tell me why I would want to use a Production Activity Schedule?

I thought that by setting up the production calendar that was all I needed. These forms seem like a duplication of the production calendar.

What are these forms for, and how do you used them in your company?

Thanks for that link. I did read through it, but again it talks a lot about how to use it, but not why. I’d love to hear from someone that uses it and why they decided to.

As you may have already seen, @askulte created a very similar topic…

…awhile back and received very little feedback, but maybe Andris found more information on his own. The functionality apparently isn’t popular within the customer base. It also seems rather telling that no course can be found within the Education site for this functionality.

Over the years, @timshuwy clearly has helped a lot of customers with production and scheduling issues. Perhaps Tim can shed some light on the subject.

@ScottLepley, thanks for the vote of confidence, but I personally have not found a great example of how I would use these screens either. I am sure that the original use case was valid at the time, but it may have been designed/written with a specific industry in mind.
