Thanks for the suggestions... I will pass them on.

Part Number.

If I select "search by part number" and "open", the search engine
brings up "closed" as well as "open' Purchase Orders."

We had this problem with Vantage 8.0 and don't see a solution in
8.03.400 which we are test running right now with intent to go live
with it 7/1.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,
Create a quick search.

Good Morning,

Has anyone written a BPM that only allows parts entered into a sales order that exist in the parts master? If so can you email me how you did it?

Thanks!

Create a simple BAQ that shows all basic key info regarding PO records to the depth you require (PO header & line may be sufficient but perhaps you also want users to see release schedule info in the search data).

Create a dashboard from the BAQ and make Part Number, Open status and perhaps a calculated field (call it Net Bal Due - at either the line or release level - qty on order minus qty received to date) user filterable entry fields.

Save the dashboard and enable it to be used as an advanced search.

You can then use it from apps like PO Entry as an advanced search and the user should be able to specify any combo of Open PO status 'Net Bal Due > 0' and/or a specific Part Number.

You could also skip the dashboard step and construct a right click accessible (from, say PO# or Part Number field) Quick Search and achieve the same effect.

We are on 8.03.404B and sorting by Purchase Orders with a PO Status of OPEN
only returns open PO's.

If your version is not filtering correctly you can workaround by creating a
BAQ for PO's and connect a PO Quick Search to it.

Version 8.03.403D and we only see Open POs returned (The line may be
closed that the part is on, but the Orders are all open).
It may be company or DB specific.
