Serializing boxes as opposed to parts

Without understanding your situation I can only give a few Ideas that MAY
work for you.

Two different ways can possibly accomplish what you are looking for.

Option 1.
Use LOT tracking. Turn on lot and serial tracking for the part and when you
are making production for a particular day/part give all the "boxes/parts"
that lot/serial number.
or
Option 2.
This is more work and will totally depend on how you sell your product. You
could create a brand new part "box" with all the parts that go into it as a
kit even if it is the same part. This way you can give the the "Box" it's
own part/serial #.

Turning on BOTH LOT and SERIAL number tracking will give you the best
control over the parts, it IS more work but well worth it.

Just a few Ideas. Test it and see if it could work for you. If not give me
a call so we can discuss it in length.

Subject: [Vantage] serializing boxes as opposed to parts

I was hoping for some insight here. We want to serialize boxes as we
always have as opposed to parts individually. It appears the
software is designed to serialize by part and not box. How is anyone
else working with this?
