Spam Multicopies in Crystal

You can print multiple copies and even pass a variable to identify each copy
in the header but you would have to code a wrapper in either VB or .NET to
do so. If the number of copies is always constant, the process would be
completely transparent to the user. Otherwise you could code up a screen to
prompt for the number of copies each time. To distribute the report, you
would need to compile it and run it from within V8 as a freestanding
executable.

So what do you do to get around multiple copies of the same report?

Hi All

A lot of you on here will hopefully got around this problem - we are
going live May with Vantage 8 - and presently we use multipart forms
for all the multitude of copies we need (customer copy, driver
copy, file copy etc)for forms like Invoices,Delivery Notes etc

Now we are using Crystal for our reports and using A4 laser printers
instead of dot-matrix - we are trying to find a way of producing
multicopies of reports that are indentical except for a header
indicating the copy that it is.

Have tried subreports in Crystal but cannot get these to work.
Epicor have told us about software called Altec but this is very
expensive.

Hoping to get some good advise very very soon!

Hi,

I have used vantage 6.1 and crystal 8.5. What is the issue using a
subreport in the report footer ? You may need to modify the
structure of the report. E.g. No Page Headers, but replace these
with groups. It should be possible , with a bit of fiddling.

Well using Crystal myself on the standard Vantage reports I have
been unable to do it as the reports in question - Invoice for
example - already have subreports in them so you cannot use a
subreport within a subreport. I am no expert though so I asked a
specialist Crystal company to have a look and they agreed it would
be too complicated bearing in mind the complex info on the report.
Have you fiddled with any of the standard reports then and what do
you do for multicopies at your company?
Martin

Only on reports that didn't include a sub-report. If the crystal
guys say it is too difficult then I would go with that. v8 an cR10
are different beasts to what I have been use to.
