Split Burden on 2 separate Jobs run at the same time

Is there a way to split burden on 2 separate jobs run at the same time?

We machine a left hand and right part number on the same machine at the same time with 1 operator. We have 2 separate jobs for the 2 different finished part numbers. Currently to split the burden cost, the person creating the Jobs needs to remember to manually change the burden cost on the Jobs.

Desired Result: 1 employee ran both Jobs for 1 hour.
Job #1 = 0.5 hr labor and 0.5 hr burden or 1.0 hr burden at 1/2 the cost
Job #2 = 0.5 hr labor and 0.5 hr burden or 1.0 hr burden at 1/2 the cost

Another option we’ve thought of is to create a new Resource with half the burden, but this would create two schedules for the same resource since it runs other parts at the full burden rate. Our Customer Service does not want two separate schedules.

Split burden does not sound like it would be applicable because they are separate jobs.

Is there another way to handle this?

At the Resource Group level, there is a checkbox labelled “Split Burden”. When this is selected, and the operator clocks into BOTH jobs, the burden value will be split between both jobs. Labor I’m not sure about.

I would test out CoParts on 1 job to make both parts.
