Anyone else have any DBs that have records grouped?
One of our Shipping DBs, which users have grouped by CustomerName, now expands all grouped records when expanding one and selecting a record underneath. It’s weird.
I just tested one of our dashboards similar to this but it’s working. Is the grouping embedded in the dashboard or via a user’s personalization? Ours are generally done via personalization so accommodate all users.
It’s a personalization. I wish we could group for them in App Studio lol. I know we can at the BAQ level, but like you I’d rather not to accommodate for other people.
I did find that if they ungroup then regroup it collapses. Until they select another record lol.
Made a change to the DB to not auto load. This stops it from auto expanding when selecting records but it still loads expanded and requires ungrouping and regrouping.
On Prem Kinetic 2023 → 2025 has been mostly Ok. Haven’t had any issues on the test system as we patch out the minors, but being on prem we patch when we need to not when we are told to. Most issues we have had is mostly down to it not existing in 2023 in the first instance or the poor Classic to Kinetic migration.
I have to admit as an on-prem user sitting on the sidelines - it is these sort of posts that really concern me, when talking about the move to the cloud.
I hope Epicor fully understand that for most businesses this type of disruption is not feasible.
If upgrades are not working and breaking things, then Epicor cannot support the cloud.
I don’t think Netsuite comes close in term of manufacturing functionality (or at least it didn’t three years ago), but in the short time I worked there I never remember customers complaining about such a fundamental problem following an upgrade
This has to be down to internal processes in Epicor around QA and regression testing.
It turns out any time a dashboard with the provider model / invalidate is customized by a user to have a group it breaks. So I will have to go through and add BAQ widgets like you did. Which is a lot more work
This BAQ dashboard with no parameter popup is related to the grouping issue. As soon as I added a grouping to my grid, I couldn’t refresh the dash. No parameter popout. After I saved Layouts I can’t figure out how to get it back to normal. I went to personalization and clicked reset to defaults, the warning says it removes all personalizations. Is there a way to also remove saved layouts?
@Evan_Purdy my first attempts converting dashboards were to let epicor generate the dashboards from the smart client dashboard screen. Those all broke with updates with issues around the provider model baqs. So I rewrote them, that’s much more stable.
A while back panel card stacks would break, that’s been fixed.
Did you write these dashboards or use generate from existing smart client dashbaord?
I do know I used that for some of them. I generally used it if it produced a working dashboard that didn’t need much changes, but if it gave me garbage I started from scratch. I didn’t realize I was giving myself a ticking time bomb. I had hoped that waiting until the last minute these kind of early adopter bugs would have been worked out.
Apparently that is the new “sync dataset” button.
In any case, it doesn’t seem like they are corrupted or anything, rather the ‘invalidate’ method of refreshing a grid seems to be incompatible with groups in this new patch they pushed out.
As soon as we reapplied the grouping it rebroke the dashboard. No grouping for now. I did like other and deployed the BAQ in a layout on a new tab. This seems to work for now!
Hmm, actually, if you have a grouping added at the user level I do get these errors in the console. I wasn’t getting anything testing from application studio
