We've been very happy with the Welch-Allyn ImageTeam scanners. Built like tanks and very easy to set up (just plug in). A good place to compare brands, models and relative prices is SystemID Warehouse ( www.systemid.com ) then shop around for a local dealer with support (and better prices). Their catalog is handy to have around for quick reference.

I would highly recomend Televideo.com for a thin client solution.
