Kelly,
This company has a well delineated description of the various touch screen
technologies and their appropriate applications.
http://www.vartechsystems.com/products/topics/touchscreen.asp
Some of the market leading vendors are:
Elo Systems
http://www.elotouch.com
3M Microtouch
http://www.microtouch.com
GVision
http://www.gvision-usa.com
The general consideration for shop floor deployment is that the screen
itself can be as tough or tougher than the monitor. As a result, you may
want to look at NEMA approved or, at least, enclosed solutions so that your
system doesn't fail as a result of a monitor failure.
Good luck with your search.

Subject: [Vantage] Touchscreen note...
Thanks for the responses so far. I also wanted to note the units will
be used in a shop setting - so they must be resistant to scratches,
dirt, grease and normal shop wear and tear....
Thanks again!
Kelly
