Upgrade 8.0 db to 8.3

8.0 apparently.

Whats the upgrade procedure for an 8.0.808 to 8.3 db?
IE have an 8.0 backup and want to install an 8.3 instance and restore
to it. Whats the conversion process for this?

Is it safe to have the 8.3 install use the same c:\epicor\oe100b
directory? I would imagine so since that version of progress is the
same, but just want to make sure.

Install 8.03 using the same instance of Open Edge.

Restore the backup exactly as I outlined in previous e-mail on this
subject. I omitted one step in previous instructions and that was to
copy your backup file into the same directory as your target database.
Then the syntax will work properly.

I don't recall whether or not database conversions or schema changes
were required but you could try to run schema change after the restore.
It will tell you if it is necessary or not. Then open Admin Tools, if db
conversions are required they will run automatically. Then log in.

The directions have you backup the database from the Progress command line.
Copy the file to the new folder and restore it. Both databases will exist at
the same time on the same server. The conversion programs creates all of your
appservers, etc. Search the archives for 8.03 for a full discussion.

Yes, but you need to be at a certain service pack (sp5?)
