I know but now its .NET 8  and its being mean to me I’ve been fighting with it for about an hour already

It couldn’t find System.String… I was able to go write it externally and link it in via reflection. But that URL you gave me works, thank you!

Okay! So updated the Angular library to now look at
/api/environment

instead of
/api/v2/environment

And it is now working fine

Wait wait wait I’m on build 4 (dev) in a highly customized environment in 2024.1 and with 127 issues resolved I haven’t seen any of this… What’s going on? I don’t get it

These are just the things we are running into during our upgrade. YMMV. Most of the stuff is specific to us. The Environment endpoint we need for logins where we need to find out the users company and plant permissions since we are multi company and multi plant. It only really matters if external programs.

The invalid session thing seems to have calmed down now. Not sure why we were seeing it so much when we first started.

Well, I win, minus an app server issue my migration to the cloud went faster!!!

Yeah, have fun with that. :yum:

Oh great… This next build is the one where we test salesforce, ETQ, EKW, woocommerce, 1EDI and a whole herd of feral spreadsheets and raspberry pi devices… :grimacing:

I have connected in the browser over WAN and connected EKW though, and aside from the old on-prem thing of requiring both a public SSL cert and a self-signed one, so far so good.

Day 3
Live has been upgraded but we are still working on periphery
Setup replication last night before bed so that it could run over night (we replicate our Db for reporting and power bi)
Small problem there is a new view in the Db Ice.FieldHelp that points to the CommonDB Now
So when we tried to do process the replication snapshot (overnight) it blew up

Had to remove that article from replication and start over, wouldn’t be so bad except replication takes hours and hours to process :sob:

The two views are

FieldHelp create view Ice.FieldHelp as select SystemCode, DataTableID, FieldName, HelpText, SysRowID from [ICECommon_4_3_100].Ice.FieldHelp
ReportStore create view Ice.ReportStore as select PrintProgram COLLATE DATABASE_DEFAULT PrintProgram, Content, ContentHash COLLATE DATABASE_DEFAULT ContentHash, Ice.SetReportStoreSystemFlag(PrintProgram) as SystemFlag from ICECommon_4_3_100.Ice.ReportStore union select PrintProgram, Content, ContentHash, Ice.SetReportStoreSystemFlag(PrintProgram)as SystemFlag from Ice.CustomReportStore

Make sure you exclude them if you are doing full DB Replication.

Best of luck on the go live! If you are an in-person office, do you have Epicor employees there in person to help solve any problems that come up? We did when we went from 9 to 2024.1, but they didn’t really do much since our launch was so smooth.

Sorry to hear all the woes, but super happy that you got there in the end! Look forward to the after-action report.
