I had a system like this that is working quite well. The Pro number was
stored in a VB field, and 10 days after shipment, the package tracked and
the result date/time pasted into two other VB fields (Date/Time of
delivery). A progress routine pulls all the pro numbers into a list (on a
spreadsheet), along with the shipper's name (UPS, FedEX, Roadway, etc). This
information can be cut & pasted into the shipper's web site, and the
resulting email saved for automatic processing. Once the spreadsheet has
some tracked packages on it, the tracker (receptionist) goes into each
shipper's detail's VB form, selects UPDATE on the form and the date/time
received are automatically filled in.
This worked great, until we upgraded to 5.1. With 5.1, the shipper (and all
the details) are *locked* once the package is shipped, and permanently
locked once it is invoiced. Now, for lack of a better place to go, all our
tracking data is accumulating in the spreadsheet with no place to do...
I have an ER on file at Epicor to resolve this, and am hoping for the best.
