I feel like I really should know this, but I’m stumped. How can it be that one of my users can open job closing from the Epicor menu, can open a job up in Job Closing, but then the “Closed” checkbox is grayed out? It is for this user, but not for me. I looked at the User Account setup and there is nothing in there that I can see which would explain why I can close/re-open the job, but he cannot.
Field Security! D’uh! Almost forgot about that, and didn’t remember at all setting any, but sure enough that was where it is. Actually, the odd thing at this point is that JobHead.JobClosed is set to READ for default access, and no user or group is given anything other than Default access, yet somehow the accounting department hasn’t complained about this yet. Almost like this field security is only just now working for a few users.
