User ID Field in a report

I'd allocate a UD field in Part and setup a BPM for Adds and Changes and
simply put the user name in Part.ShortChar01, for example. This would be
effective moving forward but nothing in the past.

Is there a way I can have the "user name" as a field in a customized Report?
For example, with a report regarding "Part Maintenance," whoever the person
was to create or last modify a specific part, I would want their user ID to
be listed next to that part on the report
