Michelle,
The only way I manage/track the UD fields I've used is via an Excel
spreadsheet. I keep a worksheet for each standard table I use any UD
fields in. I'll put the actual field name (JobHead.ShorChar01) and a
description of what I use it for.
And, unfortunately, you cannot and should not change the field names.
It is up to you, when creating reports, to identify which UD fields are
what....

Subject: [Vantage] User Defined Fields
When using UD fields, is there a way to track which ones have been
previously used? In addition, is there any way to rename the fields so
when you are creating reports you know which field is which?
Thanks in advance for the help.
