<Vantage> 6.1 EWB

I just went through the same problem after upgrading this last
weekend. If you don't plan on using the new workflow functionality
go to:

Advanced Bill of Materials/General Operations/Engineering Workbench

Select a group then update the group by changing anything. Click on
ok. Upon opening the group again you will notice that the "Check In
Allowed" box should be checked. Do this for all groups.

Hard to believe, but it works!

We just converted to 6.1 from 5.2.
Engineering is having problems checking BOMs back in.
They are able to check "approved" but the "check in"
is grey'd out. Is this a permissions thing?

I don't have the exact particulars but I recall when we started EWB the sales engineers had the same issue and there was a second box to check (something like "ready to check in" that was not visible and had to be scrolled over to to see. I think it was to the right of the approved box. Explore around a bit on the tabbed mini-screens and I think you may find something like this.

Like Todd, I don't remember the particulars of this problem, but vaugely remember we needed to setup basic workflow stuff (WorkFlow groups, task group, etc..).

Check under System Management \ Security Maintenance \ Menu Security

Then go to;

Production Management \ Advanced Bill of Materials \ General Operations
\ Engineering Workbench

Open "Check in Revision" and make sure their name or security group they
belong to is selected and allowed access.
