Aaron,

You requested I let you all know what the solution was. Someone emailed me
privately and suggested I contact Tech Support and ask for "Phil's Doc."
Seemed like going around the haystack to look for the needle in it, but it
worked....!

If anyone needs this "Doc", please email me privately with a fax number.
I'll fax it to you pronto! ;)

I know I am late to jump in, but please let us know what the solution
was when you get it.
>From my experience there are two things to look for. The sub menu
security under EWB has a separate item for check in. Ours was not
defaulted to everyone when we first started using it. Also, you need to
approve the rev in the lower section under the revision tab. After that
is checked if you have permission to check in you should be all set. I
would explore the sub menu security under EWB first to make sure
everything is set to allow everyone to do the subtasks. Start by
controlling access to EWB and then once it works, you can narrow down to
the specific sub options.

check mark "Approve" and sometimes this is scrolled off the viewable
part of
the window section it is on. The "Check In" is activated.

Exit EWB and try it from Part Master, under revision try selecting "Check
Out" then also from the revision pull down menu EWB. Then see if you can

I don't mean to point out the obvious but it wasn't so obvious to me when we did our change over. There are two sets of security. There is the "normal" part entry security under Job Mang->Master File Maint and there is Eng Workbench under Advanced Bill of Materials-->General Operations.

Security has to be set in both places.

I had this same problem before, however, hell if I remember how I fixed it.
But I can tell you this. Call Epicor, Production support, see if you can
talk to Phil. He wrote out a document with step-by-step instructions on how
to fix this EXACT problem.

I think after you make your changes in the engineering workbench, you have
to select GROUP, APPROVE ALL... and you can then check in the part

Tricia,
I know I am late to jump in, but please let us know what the solution
was when you get it.
From my experience there are two things to look for. The sub menu
security under EWB has a separate item for check in. Ours was not
defaulted to everyone when we first started using it. Also, you need to
approve the rev in the lower section under the revision tab. After that
is checked if you have permission to check in you should be all set. I
would explore the sub menu security under EWB first to make sure
everything is set to allow everyone to do the subtasks. Start by
controlling access to EWB and then once it works, you can narrow down to
the specific sub options.

I don't use this personally (our Engineers do) but if I recall yo have
to
check mark "Approve" and sometimes this is scrolled off the viewable
part of
the window section it is on. The "Check In" is activated.

Help! We've just gone to 6.0 today. Engineering Workbench is giving me

fit. Menu Security has the proper groups listed. Appropriate employees

assigned to those groups. However, after a part is checked out and
updated,
they can't get the "Check In" option - it's grayed out. I just don't
know
where else to look. I even put the individual peoples' names in the
Menu
Security. I thought it was because you have to highlight the part, but
that still doesn't help. :(
