Set it up as a whse bin if you really have a need to track it (and sales people who will report transactions needed after the fact).

Making the whse/bin nettable vs non-nettable is your call.

If they are loosely managed giveaways (like samples) - consider adjusting them out of inventory with an appropriate reason code applied (as that will still enable some simple tracking & inv/cost adj to an appropriate GL via the parttran table).

We setup a separate 'Sales sample' warehouse, using the sales rep's UserID the bin location, i.e. 'jdoe', which is non-nettable. The part is then just moved to his bin until it is returned.
