Non-nettable bins remove item qty from MRP and ATP processing. The items will not show up in the Stock Status Report. However, the inventory value is still there and will be reflected in the G/L.

If you want to have parts visibility, i.e. have them show up in reports, you need to have them in a nettable bin. The part tracker screens will show both nettable and non-nettable bins, but the canned stock status report shows only nettable bins.

If you want to reduce the inventory value to zero the part must be set-up with zero value. In the Part Master, set the costing method to Standard and set G/L account to an expense account. In the Cost Adj screen, set the std cost to zero. The inventory cost of this item will now be zero. When purchasing, acquisition cost will be expensed to the G/L account. A purch variance entry may be created but this can easily be traced to the item.

We have spare machine repair parts that my general manager wants to
have visibility of in vantage. These are expense items. My CFO is
concerned that the parts will show value on the stock status report.
We eventually would like to have visibility of all of our tool crib
parts in vantage.

We are currently using Vantage 5.2 and will be upgrading to 6.0 in
coming months.

Is anybody doing this or know how to accomplish this?
