Vantage cost structure

We use the subcontract cost for outside processing to our manufactured parts. The purchase order is created for that job number on that line and seq. For example we have outside processing for chem mill material and for painting parts. We would then have material, Labor, and burden charged to that same job.

Question about sub\contract cost in vantage. Part tracker has a cost,
which will show, material cost, labor cost, burden cost, subcontract
cost and material burden cost. I'm I correct in saying that the
subcontract cost should come from the PO to have this item built?
Another question, if we purchase it one week and manufacture this
item the next week then it is possible to have a material cost &
labor cost (these cost would come from our in-house labor and
material cost numbers) and a subcontract cost (which is the
subcontractors total cost to us). I'm I on the right track?
