Vantage Version 6 Global Alerts

Richard,

I struggled with this also. It seems to be working better than in previous
versions. I don't have to hit them on the head about closing Outlook
anymore. Don't need click-yes anymore either.

My settings in Company Configuration:
Port: 9876 (picked at random)
E-mail Address: Vantage.Admin@... <mailto:Vantage.Admin@...>
E-mail Label: Vantage
SMTP
SMTP Server: Exchsrv (the name of my Exchange server)
Port: 25

I also populated the e-mail field in the following tables for each employee
Employee (payroll)
User (configuration)
Shop Employee (job management)
Person file (job management)

I'm sure I forgot something but that's a start.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage Version 6 Global Alerts

Morning everybody,
Has anybody managed to get the E-Mail Alerts working successfully either via
Business Activity Manager triggered by, say, a change to Part Description
(or indeed any other file field) or a standard Global Alert.
We're cutting over to 6.0 on 1st Sept from 5.10 and have set up the Mail
Configuration etc as per standard instructions but when a mail gets
triggered the Process Server (and the Global Alert Message Error Log)
returns a "Send Failure SMTP : 501 Syntax error in parameters or argument to
MAIL command" message.

Any/all suggestions welcome.
Regards,
Richard

We have recently migrated to Vantage 5.2. We Win2PDF purchase orders, SO
acknowledgements, and others documents
out of Vantage (convert to Adobe and e-mail). Most of our documents are
customized crystal report docs.
With V5.2, my users cannot use Win2PDF with vantage crystal reports. (they
can use it with report builder reports).
When they try to convert/save/email a purchase order, the save dialog never
comes up and the output goes directly to
their default printer & scrambles the print codes.
If I log onto the network as administrator and run the same procedure, all
works fine.
Does anyone have any ideas on why saving PDF's from vantage is limited to
the administrator?
Man......I love upgrades.
regards,
