Vantage 6.1 Global Alerts E-mail Configuration

Matt,

Go to your Vantage server, click Start | Run and open a command line box (run
cmd)

When the command line opens, type:

telnet <ip.address.of.your.exchange.server> 25

If you get a "welcome" banner from Exchange then you know Exchange is
configured correctly and that it's an issue with your Vantage setup. If you
get an error message or disconnected immediately then it's a problem with your
Exchange setup.

I know this has been asked several times in the past, but I am
completely stuck in trying to get the Global Alert e-mails to work.
I found some other posts suggesting some ports to try in the "Email
Link Port" box, but so far nothing has worked. Here is a quick
rundown of our setup:

- Exchange 2003 SP1
- Vantage 6.1 for Manufacturing
- Anyonymous authentication for our Virtual SMTP server is ALLOWED
- SMTP logging is also enabled, but I can find no activity from the
6.1 Server

If anyone else out there has been able to get 6.1 work with Exchange
2003 to work, please respond. We have several other apps that are
sending SMTP notices correctly (BackupExec, Vacation/PTO requests)
but nothing from Vantage.

I have already tried calling Support and all I got was "try adding
one to the SMTP port...try 26 in the link port." What?

Thanks,

Matthew
6.1 and Exchange 2003 are working here just fine. What are all your setting in the e-mail configuration section under the company config?
