You can automate the process of moving all the scrap to DMR's and closing
them out with Ground Control but it's still a pain.

Subject: [Vantage] Version 4.0 & DMR's
We have just recently converted to 4.0 and went to close jobs at month end
and discovered how scrap if being handled in 4.0!!! Oh, my god!! Every time
someone scraps out a part from our production departments (which happens
many times daily) the system is now creating a DMR and putting these
scrapped parts in the Inspection Que. These parts are bad parts that were
ruined during production and are not salvageable. Our operators decide at
the machines when a part is salvageable or scrap. We set the "salvageable"
ones aside for review and repair, if possible.
How do other shops handle this situation? This is going to create a
nightmare to administer from both the Inspection and DMR closures alone. Is
there a way to have the system handle scrap without creating a DMR and
putting the parts into the inspection Queue? Help!!!!!!
