Open DMR on Job

QC could find it to be good and send it back to the original job, so the DMR has to be finished so the cost lands before you complete the job.

This makes sense so if it is moved off a job why do they get a message that an open DMR exists when completing operation or closing job??

Normally a DMR removes the part(s) from the job and inspection decides the next step. Quality Control, QC, should be working with the production team on the issue in order to correct it from happening again.

Now once the part(s) is removed from the job and a DMR is issues another job is issued and linked to the original job to replace it to fulfill demand. This job would be your Re-Work job. The rework job can be to fix the part, or make a whole new one depending on the issue.

If the job was run complete and there's enough parts to meet demand then a Corrective Action is issued and QC watches the next time this job is run for similar issues.

One part doesn't stop a job unless the job = 1 part. The job can still run with a rework job linked to the original job to meet demand.

So for example I have 100 parts in Job 0001. Demand is for 100 parts.

2 are marked bad due to chipping in the paint. A DMR is issued. 2 parts are sent back to paint on rework job num RW-0001 that is l inked to Job num 0001.

98 parts are complete on Job 0001.

When RW-0001 is complete I will have 100 parts to fulfill demand and ship to customer.

We are having debate and questions about a Open DMR on a job.  the users get a warning that the DMR is open but allows them to continue on.  Once they pass it on it wasn't catched until part shipped.  I was thinking that once it went from Non-Conformance to DMR it was off the job and the part was either replaced or fixed and sent back to job.  Can someone clarify what should really happens with a DMR on a job or what should happen?

Thanks Kim
