WANTED: WIP Report with Sales and Invoice Information

Because each line in our sales order is linked to a job, our new financial
controller would like to see the order line value + invoice value / balance
on the WIP report. Most of our jobs are big dollar value and can be open
for several months, so monitoring WIP compared to the order is important so
that our costs don't blow out.

Does anyone already have such a report that they are willing to share ?
Even if you just had the equivalent of a WIP report so that I can see how to
extract "To Inv", "C.O.S.", "W.I.P", and then link this to the order and
invoice tables would be a great help.

I'm assuming PartTran is where I will get the data, just not sure on how to
determine Inv/COS/WIP.

We are planning to make the step from 4.0 to 5.0 at the end of this
month. I know someone posted a message on the steps, but I cannot
locate it in my files. Also if there are any accounting types out
there who can give me some tips on the 5.0 problems and changes, I
would appreciate some feed back there also.

OurJobShipQty, OurInvShipQty and their counter parts SelShipQty,
SelJobShipQty, SelInvShipQty are new. This is also bad if you have
written a
lot of open order type reports.
*) Report Builder - BookDtl.BookQty is now BookDtl.OurBookQty,
BookDtl.SellingBookQty
*) New Field - JobOper.LastLaborDate, This is a great thing for
Stalled WIP
reports in report builder or just noteing on a report the last labor
date of
an operation without reading all labor tickets.
*) Posting Cost Adjustments to Jobs - You will have to enter a
quantity now
so material costs calculate, must be because they added material
burden as a
percentage. This you probably won't notice until you run accross it
yourself.
*) Purchase Order Receipts - With Lot Tracking turned on - verifies
against
all lots now, not just the lots under that part. This is not so good
if you
have the same lot number under different parts.
*) BOM Cost Report - prints the SINGLE level instead of the INDENTED
level
version.
*) New table POBookDtl - For PO Change Information similar to Order
Management. But no data gets written to the table. Tech Support says
it will
get removed in 5.1
*) Projected Sales Report - Listed in the 5.0 Orientation Book, no
where to
be found in system.

Look under Vantage Administration on the Egroups list, and you'll find a Word Doc with some of the steps we were looking at in going from 3.0 to 5.0. There might be something that could help you there.
