Sorry, I mis-spoke, the job doesn't have to be closed, the shipment &
invoicing function are all that is necessary to move the costs as seen
on the WIP report from wip to cogs.

After a job is closed, the capture COGS/WIP Activity function under Job
Management General Operations posts these costs to cogs, but this should
only be done once a month according to Epicor.

In our Files area at yahoo groups, under "Vantage Admin" there's a
spreadsheet Vantage_5_Transaction_GL_Hierarchy.xls that I uploaded. It
explains all the GL stuff going on behind the scenes and the logic used
to determine which GL numbers get used for each transaction. It does
*wonders* for making sense of what Vantage is doing!

Our company is a new user of Vantage and have hopefully a basic question. I'm sure as we get further along in our implementation ... my questions will become more in-depth.

What transaction/procedure needs to happen to take WIP accumulated costs behind a job and transfer them to COS accounts?

I have created a line on a Sales Order that has a job attached to it to make the part. I have issued costs to the job and those costs are accumulating in the wip account based on the Product Group. What transaction/procedure do I need to perform to transfer these costs from WIP and into COS for the Product Group?

Just need to create a packing slip shipping from that job/manufacturing.. and then create an invoice for that packing slip...
