We are on systems where everything goes to stock at standard cost and ships from Finished goods.
The calculation is Actual to date less what went to Finished Goods for each job. To get an understanding, we review the WIP Report under Job Management/Reports. If the job is closed the amount in the COS field is what will go to variance, if not closed but all quantities have gone to finished goods - the WIP field will show the amount.
Hope this helps.

For COS - try MFG-CUS
For To Inventory - Try MFG-STK
From what I recall - before you run the CAPTURE COS/WIP the phantom purge
(the MFG-VAR) is a calculated field when the Inventory WIP Reconciliation
report is run. I wonder if anyone knows that calculation?

Subject: [Vantage] WIP Report Design Vantage 8.03
I'm trying to duplicate the WIP report in Vantage 8.03 so I can easily
export to Excel in a useable format. I'm specifically trying to get the
different costs that show on this report. I've been using PartTran and
JobAsmbl tables to get this information. Everything is good on OPEN Jobs but
I am having problems tying the WIP, COS, and "TO Inventory" costs on jobs
that have been CLOSED but NOT posted to the CAPTURE COS/WIP activity yet. It
seems when a job is closed, Vantage automatically moves WIP dollars to COS
but I can't figure out how to "prove" that theory with the data transactions
in PartTran. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks!
