you re-open the job.

We closed a job in Feb, ran capture/post at Feb month-end, and then re-opened the job in March in order to take additional parts made on the job to stock (component parts made on a sub-assembly of the job).

First, does Vantage do anything with the job costs when the job is re-opened in March, or do all job costs stay as they were when capture/post was run at Feb month-end?

Second, does Vantage re-allocate any costs from the job to account for the fact that additional parts went to stock? On this, my guess is that it does not, because "part transaction history" seems to show the parts going to stock with zero cost.

Just reopening a job does nothing. When you did the capture - the job total
should be 0. Even if it wasn't 0 - Epicor will create a Variance (MFG-VAR)
transaction to bring it 0.

Second, does Vantage re-allocate any costs from the job to account for the
fact that additional parts went to stock? On this, my guess is that it does
not, because "part transaction history" seems to show the parts going to
stock with zero cost.

It can only get cost from what is on the job but after closing your job in
February, you job is now at 0 dollars - if you put additional parts to
stock they will go to stock at 0 dollars. Sometimes you will get some funky
ADJ-CST transactions.

However, I have seen some strange things with Average Costing and I have
working with Vantage/Epicor since 2006.
