I believe the $2500 difference in price includes 25 CALs which makes it
slightly more attractive.

my server price.

What version of SQL Server are you using, or are you going with the Progress
database?

If you're SQL 2000 Server Standard, it only uses 2GB of RAM. For more you'd
also need SQL 2000 Enterprise edition or SQL 2005. I'm not sure of the
specs for 2005 standard as we aren't thinking of moving to that until
Vantage 9 comes out.

We are live with 8.00.810b on Windows Server 2003 x64 along with SQL
Server 2005 x64 (in 2000 compatibility mode) - no problems with this
environment. Our test server is a Dell 2950 similar to the one you've
described and it runs well.

You can also use Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition to get around the 4GB limit.

I could use Windows 2003 Enterprise but that is $2500 difference in
my server price.

we are using progress database are there any known issues or
