I haven’t found a way to change the “dynamic recipientâ€â€¦but I’m sure if I dig through the database it will be there somewhere. Also, the trick to changing the fax subject:
Open the Administrator -> Tools -> Services -> doc-link Output Manager Service -> configure -> choose Fax -> properties -> Fax Server tab
Change to any other Fax Server type besides MSFAX and the Subject will be editable, put in what you want then click apply…then go back and choose MSFAX, click apply okay and you should be good.
That should do the trick.

We Have been Using APM with MS Fax since last year working fine with no problems.
Just Need to know is there a way to change the Subject from "Dynamic Recipient" to something meaningfull. Similarly Document Name Which comes up as "documents via doc-link Output Manager fax service". Is it possible to chage these 2 variables. when Sending Document from APM to MS Fax.
Thanks
Muhammad

Subject: [Vantage] Re: APM and MSFax
We have been using APM with MS Fax since Sep 2007 and it has worked very well. We send approx 100 faxes per day. We use the standard fax card that came with our Dell server. We have one incoming fax line and a different fax line for outgoing faxes (APM).
APM has been a big time saver at our company.
My tips for using APM:
If you run MS Fax – MS Fax and the Fax device must be on the machine that runs APM.
If you run MS Fax - The default TIF viewer on the machine running APM MUST BE Windows Picture Viewer. Someone could easily cahgne this after initial setup.
Invoice/Credit memo – mixed document type – review ERM settings so it looks at every page to verify document type.
Tips in Crystal with APM:
Have the same person design the Crystal Reports and the APM document type layout.
On the Crystal form:
Do not crowd fields
Watch for fields that can grow
Do not use shaded areas – APM turns them black – unless the resolution is set very high - which resutla in a large file size.
You can set the font to white in crystal so it does show on the paper print out, but keep the font black until you have ALL the trouble-shooting done.
You can contact me off-line if you ahve additional questions.

MS fax worked with other documents, like word and other test prints, but it was too inconsistent when for documents coming From APM. Please post what you find when you figure it out. Thanks, Pam

We also have our faxes going through a VoIP line so its getting compressed. Can't decide if the problem is with MS Fax, the fax card or not having a dedicated analog fax line. Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestion s?
