How do we associate multiple vendor part numbers with our internal part number? Will the system stop us from inputting duplicates?
To be clear are you referring to the part number your supplier uses or the part number the manufacturer uses?
For example I buy a resistor from the distributor Arrow Electronics under supplier part number 1234. They ship a Vishay resistor with manufacturer part number XYZ
We want to create internal “dumb” numbers, because we have multiple suppliers. We want sales to use the internal, and leave room for purchasing or the warehouse to decide which vendor to get the part from. Our question is, how do we associate the supplier # with our internal, and can our internal be searchable by the supplier #?
We also want to know if EPI can produce those “dumb” part numbers for us.
Epicor is set up so that the internal part number is the dumb number. It can be totally meaningless. The internal part number can be set up to auto-increment through a common simple customization.
This internal part number could then be added to multiple price lists because each supplier has their own price list. Also the buyers can decide which vendor to purchase the parts from.

Supplier part numbers are added on the Supplier Price List. You do not need to put a price to use supplier part numbers.
