Auto receipt of manufactured lot tracked parts

Miraculously, Epicor actually responded to this by saying that the feature
had been discontinued at some earlier release, however the Help Screen was
out of date.
I guessed that was the case but wanted to be sure. Historically we had used
the auto receive function almost always. We now decided that we needed to
track lots, but did not want the format of the job no=lot no as the help
screen said. So I'm glad that this feature was discontinued. Otherwise we
would have had to re-do literally thousands of BOMs to remove the auto
receive and allow the assignment of a lot number other than the default job
no.

From the help screen:
Auto-received parts that are lot tracked are automatically assigned a
lot number equal to the job number reference.

When I do the final operation marked as auto receive for a lot tracked
part, the parts do not auto receive, and a lot number is not assigned -
a receipt from manufacturing is required where the job number is
defaulted as the lot number. Has anyone encountered this? Is the
help screen incorrect or out of date?
