Auto receive into inventory

Read in some other posts that it seems like in v8, auto receipt will
take the current job number and use it as the lot number, which is
exactly what we need.

:)

Thanks.
Was wondering if anyone else has set up their MOM's to auto receive
into inventory.........
Yes we have set them to auto receive and it is working well

We are not live yet.
We are piloting and have just changed the set up for most of our
parts to auto-receive.

We use a LOT of stock components parts in our final product. 1500
parts might be made and put into stock and then pulled back out for a
typical top level assembly.

Making, putting into stock, and then pulling out into upper level
assemblies is a challenge.

Receiving was confusing and time consuming, lots of double receipts
or no receipts.

Auto-receive seems to work OK so far.

Now we need to figure out a way to make issuing material easier.

How did you set this up?? I am under the impression that it needs to
be set up in the MOM by operation sequence. We don't have the same
operation as a final operation where we would like to auto-receive.
Must we set up every part by hand?? or is there something I am
missing?? --- In vantage@yahoogroups.com, Mark Wagner <mjfw2003@...>

Yes it needs to be set up on each MOM. We checked the final operation box and auto receive to inventory. When you report labor/quantity against the operation the system will automatically put any quantity above and beyond what was called for on the job into inventory and leave the remaining balance in WIP. Make sure that if you are creating a job for a final assembly that your group understands that the system assumes you have created the finished part. For example, if you have leftover materials/assemblies on jobs but do not create a finished part you are better off returning those to inventory

In addition...Job Entry > Job Details > Operation > Details (bottom
right corner of the screen). It will default from the MOM, but can
be changed for the job; thus not married to the defaults from the MOM.

It can also be activated on the job instead of the mom, which might work better for some.

Hi just wondering, are you all using Lot tracking as well?

I'm with Vantage 6.1 and I found that with Lot tracking on, a lot of
the Auto transactions doesn't work.

IE, Kanban receipts would've saved a lot of our time issuing/returning
materials, but it doesn't work with Lot tracked parts.

And of course, Auto Receive doesn't work too. The tickbox in the job
is grey out once Lot tracking is enabled for the finished goods
