Automatting Job Creation in 8.00.810C

Michael,

I would like to create all the jobs at once or in a batch.
I am actually doing this right now with Planning Workbench by
highlighting 20 jobs at a time and creating all of them together.
Can you further explain what you mean about adding a step or a mouse
click?
You can contact me direct and we can discuss your idea further if
you want.

I am inquiring if anyone ahs found a way to automate the job creation
process in Vantage.
We have a one to one relation to the sales order line and the job.
We would like to automate job creation.
Advise me if anyone has nay suggestions to automate this process.

Mark
Version 6.1 has:

If you build to stock try "Quick Job Entry" under Production Management
/ Job Management / General Operations.

If non-stock Order Entry has "Order Job Wizard".

8.0 should also I believe.

Is there any reason your users don't like the "Create Jobs" button on the
Summary screen for Sales Order Entry. (I know it's on 8.03 but I'm pretty sure
it was on 8.0 as well.)

Mark W. (no, the other Mark W.)
I know when a part is marked manufactured that the Create Job box is
checked when entering the part number on the sales order line.
I am looking to see if there is a way to automate this process
further by checking the Get Details, Schedule Job and Release Job
boxes and then depress the Create Jobs button.
I would even be looking to see if anyone does this task at the end
of the day and create all the jobs all at once.
Right now I have been able to simplify the process by going into
Planning Workbench and highlighting approximately 20 jobs and
creating them all at once.
Does anyone ahve a more automatted way that we can do this?
Preferably having the system do the work.

Mark

Have you tried using the order job wizard? The upper left part of
this has four check boxes which allows you to select multiple lines
at once.

I know you can go in and create all the lines on a sales order using
the order job wizard.
What I am looking to do is create all the jobs during any given time
or day and allow the system to automatically create, release,
schedule and get the details on all the jobs that need to be created.
Any ideas?

Mark

Do they have to be all done in a batch, or could you just add a small
step at each order(say maybe one mouse click) that would do all the
things you are asking?
