We went live with this back in April. It took some time to work out the bugs, both with Vantage and Avalara. Other than a few hiccups here and there the system works well. This system is useful to us because each Sales Order gets shipped to a distinct location. We do about 4,000 orders per year which potentially equates to 4,000 different tax codes (research and entry).
Installation was easy and did not require consulting, however you'll need to spend some time with the Avalara group to understand how to setup your tax codes.
