Monique,
I have had good luck with Metrologic Voyager series scanners. They are
inexpensive for the laser market (close to CCD prices) but have nice
features like a "code gate" for triggered scanning, or proximity activation
when in stand. They also have a rubber head covers for basic protection. I
prefer the keyboard wedge style as you can control the speed of character
sends better than with the USB, but either are good. I have used
Symbol/Welch-Allyn/Wasp readers in the past, but for price performance I
have chosen Metrologic.
The Wasp scanners I used felt cheap in my hand.

Subject: [Vantage] Barcode Hardware - Intermec & Symbol and the like...
Good Afternoon All!
Version 6.1
I would like some feedback from the barcode users of the world on
their hardware choices and specifications/model numbers.
Likes/dislikes of their choices...
We are going with guns vs. wands...however -- are you using Intermec
devices & Symbol guns? Welch-Allyn? Or are you using any "no-name"
brands?
Are any of you using RF technology?
Thanks in advance!
Monique
