Can't find a Screen I am looking for in DMT

I am trying to create a template for a user, but I have run into a problem. I was wondering if anyone out there has ever come across this issue. When I log into DMT, I get a Menu with a list of screens to choose from. The specific screen I am looking for is not shown and when I search for it, I get a screen that is not the screen I am looking for. I am looking for a screen under Service Management/Expense Management/General Operations/Time and Expense Entry. When I do a search I get the Management/Production/Time and Expense. Under the Menu in DMT. Does anyone know how to get to the screen I want in DMT.

Thanks

It’s the same T&E screen. It’s just in two different places on the menu in Epicor.

DMT is also not 1 to 1 translation of the screens, or tables in Epicor. So you’ll have to do some exploring to understand what each thing is.

I am new to DMT. II have never used it before. I am just trying to get my feet underneath me. The screen I am working with has many forms. I just want to create a template to enter data in one of the forms. I do know that information may have to be entered for the other screens. I just don’t know how to get the table I am interested in into DMT since it is not one of the options.
Any ideas/

Can you tell us specifically what data you are trying to import? What form(s)/screen(s)?

I am trying to create a template with DMT to import data to this screen.

Depending on what kind of data you’re trying to import, the DMT programs for Time and Expense Entry are:

  1. TE Expense
  2. TE Labor Combined
  3. TE Labor Detail
  4. TE Labor Detail No Header
  5. TE Weekly

MOST LIKELY if you’re trying to enter shop floor employee time data, you’d use TE Labor Detail OR TE Labor Detail No Header.

Oh boy, you’re jumping into the deeper end with DMT on your first try. DMT is a bit intimidating but once you get the hang it’s a powerful tool.

@Ernie looks to have you covered.

To just populate the Daily Time screen “LaborHead” you will need these fields.

This is for the DMT menu “TE Labor Combined” for new records.

“Company”,“EmployeeNum”,“LaborHedSeq”,“Shift”,“ClockInDate”,“PayrollDate”,“ClockInTime”,“ClockOutTime”,“PayHours”,“TranSet”

Company Your Company ID
EmployeeNum
LaborHedSeq Set to 0 (DMT import will create)
Shift
ClockInDate
PayrollDate
ClockInTime
ClockOutTime
PayHours
TranSet ***** Optional ******

If you want to add detail records Add these fields.
“LaborDtl#Company”,“LaborDtl#EmployeeNum”,“LaborDtl#LaborDtlSeq”,“LaborDtl#LaborTypePseudo”,“LaborDtl#ClockInDate”,“LaborDtl#ClockInTime”,“LaborDtl#ClockOutTime”,“LaborDtl#LaborHrs”,“LaborDtl#IndirectCode”,“LaborDtl#ExpenseCode”,“LaborDtl#ResourceGrpID”,“LaborDtl#JCDept”,“LaborDtl#TimeStatus”,“LaborDtl#OpCode”

Make sure to set the LaborDtlSeq value to 0

Thank You very much for your help.

@mhussainib… please don’t forget to mark the the post of solved, helps future searches…

I have run into a problem with the LaborHedSeq. I set it to 0 but it did not work. I left it blank and it still did not work. This template has many of the fields I need and it would work fine if I can overcome this one problem.
I reached out to Epicor and the suggestion is that I use the template without the header. The problem is that it does not have some of the fields I really need. I’m stuck and if you have a solution to this one issue, I will be verr grateful.

What did not work? Any error logs on the DMT import?

I get this error

EmployeeNum LaborHedSeq Unable to parse LaborHedSeq:
Unable to parse LaborHedSeq:

This is from the log
2024-04-30T14:25:32 Company OGI EmployeeNum LaborHedSeq Unable to parse LaborHedSeq:
Unable to parse LaborHedSeq:

Are you adding new records or trying to update an existing one?

Can you post the first two lines of your import file? Headers and the first labor transaction you are trying

I’ll have to resume in the morning. Thanks for your help. I think I just saw something and I want to try it along with your suggestion, but I have to do that tomorrow. Something came up that needs my attention now.

Thank Yiu very much

This is the screen for which I am trying to create the template

Sorry, sent the wrong screen. This is the one in addition to the Summary screen.

Are you trying to enter shop floor operators’ labor on jobs?
Which DMT program are you trying to use?
