Not sure if this is available yet, but IQS (otherwise
known as Epicor Advanced Qualty) has a really nice
preventive and reactive maintenance module.

Hi,

Anyone using Vantage to schedule and keep track of the maintenance for
machines? If so please suggest how to do it.

Try setting up the Machine as a part# Create a routing that will
consume the amount of time needed to maintain the machine in its own
work center. Then Forecast the maintenance schedule thru the Forecast
Module. This way you can maintain both History and in your work center
comments any specific maintenance instructions needed...Make this a non
stock part and don't move to stock when done....You will also want to
turn on suggestions and MRP for this part #

So how do you have this "work order" not affect burden cost - WIP?

So how do you have this "work order" not affect burden cost - WIP? Not have it add to direct labor and burden????

The maintenance crew just punches in and out to run 1 piece thru takes
about 30 seconds, but the machine is scheduled down and is physically
down for the time alloted. So the cost really is not a factor (at least
for us).

So you let that 30 second be in direct labor and burden... I only ask because here they want work order to do basically customer maintenance and we are looking for someway they can create work orders to do these tasks but not have it affect WIP.

Yes
The time spent to punch in on the job and punch out will go to to direct
labor and burden. And again the cost really is not a factor doing it
this way. (at least for us)
