Combining 2 Different Sales Orders

So we have an instance where a customer placed an order for a custom machine.
After that they submitted a purchase order for add-ons for the custom machine with a separate purchase order. They did not want to amend their original purchase order to include the add-ons.
We have created a job for the custom machine with a demand link to the sales order. What is the ideal way to tie in the additional PO to the custom machine as the add-ons are actually going to be on the machine?

My initial thoughts would be to create a quote for the custom add in then pull that quote/line into the existing sales order

From there if you run the order job wizard you should get a MTO job for this new line - change the demand link to MTJ (the original job) and reschedule - all should line up…caveat - not online at the moment so cant double check but think this is probably the best approach

Does the customer want a seperate Invoice or line for the add-on?
If it needs to be seperate - I would leave it as two seperate lines and possibly even two Sales order.

If you are trying to combine both into one job to capture cost you could do it as a subassembly or another job as described above.

Consider the Project module

If you build a lot of custom machines - I would recommend the project module which would allow you to link both Sales Orders, Quotes, Jobs, etc into on project phase.

In the future if the machine requires service, track that activity within another phase of the project.
