anyone know the effect of "inactivating" components in a configured
item? We have a very complex configurator, mainly due to material
variations (hastaloy, titanium, and monel for example) on hundreds of
parts, so the customer can order a titanium version and get all
titanium components. Several of the material variations are possible
but VERY unlikely. (Sales like saying the words, I think). I would
like to make these components inactive, but I do not know the effect
on the configurator. The unlikely materials will still be a choice,
so the configurator shouldn't be changed.
Has anyone done anything like this?
