[Vantage 6.10] Print Preview Error 0

To expand on Charlie's thoughts on version....is there any chance this particular PC has had a 3rd party software product installed that has built in reporting capability? These often carry a stripped down Crystal runtime distribution. We have issues like this every time we load things like Sage Fixed Assets which has a reporting tool based on Crystal. I usually end up re-copying all the CRxxxx.dll files from the server to the client...especially CRPE32.dll and a couple others. Sometimes uninstalling the Progress client after other software has been installed and re-installing it will overlay the Vantage friendly versions. There are also a couple patch files on the Epicor FTP site specific to Crystal that may also help..especialy the Crystal_Decisions_Database_and_Export_Patch.exe file.

I always get really strange errors on print preview if my crystal runtime
version isn't at the correct level, never seen an error 0 though.

I doubt that sp3 is part of the problem because it is nothing more than all
the patches rolled up into one package, to my understanding. It isn't a
massive kernel change like sp2 was.

That's the first place I looked. The ODBC connection is configured
exactly as all others and tests out just fine. I am leaning towards a
XP SP3 or MS patch issue.

Any one else have a thought?

Can anyone tell me how to correct the "Error 0" on print preview? I am
setting up a brand new laptop with XP Pro SP3. I seem to have a vague
memory of this error many moons ago. It seemed to be a dll version
problem, but I can't remember any more than that.

If someone else has a better memeory, could you please share it with
me. Or if you know of another fix, I would appreciate hearing about it
as well.

When we get that message it's because we don't have the ODBC connection
set up.

And I'm not sure it'd be an SP3 or patch issue, either. I'm running SP3
on my own machine, and we're pretty much up-to-date with patches (thanks
to WSUS).

Perhaps try re-creating your ODBC connection?
