Crystal Rpts slow vs Rpt Builder

THANK YOU!!!! Seconds not minutes!

I really do appreciate this. You saved me so much time.

Juliet,
Try this, Open your network (TCP) connection, go into
Properties for your TCP/IP if the field for the IP address of your DNS
server is blank enter the IP address of the DNS Server (which may be
different than your Vantage server) You should see an overall improvement in
network performance, which should help your odbc connection.

I've created the same reports in CR and RB and notice that CR takes about 2
minutes to run and eats up 98% of CPU time (_sqlsrv2.exe) on W2000 Server,
whereas RB takes about 10 seconds and uses less than 10% of CPU time
(_mprosrv.exe).

I would prefer to use CR, because CR exports so cleanly into Excel.

Any ideas that could speed up CR?

On Vantage 5.2, Progress 9.1d09, CR 8.5

Thanks

I would like to hear any performance increase options as well. After everyone helped me this week with my table joins, speed never did increase. I noticed it still took 10 minutes to verify the database. Something is drastically wrong with my ODBC connection to the Database if the rest of you connect in seconds. This got put on the back burner this week so I haven't had time to look at it.

Norm, If I find anything I will share.

Juliet
