Crystal XI-Splitting/parsing InvcHead fields SalesrepList, RepS

I used the following command to get, for example, the fourth
salesperson. I did the same for each saleperson and the concatenated
together my own data.

if InStr ({OrderHed.SalesRepList},'~') > 2 then
Split ({OrderHed.SalesRepList},"~")[4]
else ' '

Good luck,

I know there have never been rave reviews about the CRM Module in 6.1.

As we consider some day moving to 8, we're wondering if the CRM portion
of that release has vastly improved, and if it has, in what way?

Are more people using CRM in 8 than the one or two (us included) that
were/are using it in 6?

I'd love to hear from you...off list is fine...if you have any
experience at all, pro or con, for the CRM module in 8. Thanks so much.

Vastly?

In 803.305, one of the improvements is that one can send attachments in email
and track attachments in "Calls". Does that put CRM in the ballpark of a
SugarCRM, SalesForce, or even ACT or Goldmine? Uh, no.

OTOH, if the Outlook interface (via the Epicor Portal) to CRM works as
advertised, that would make CRM a much improved and even usable product -
IMHO.

Broadcast Microwave Services is using 8.03 CRM but mainly because it's required for Mobile Connect. Not sure how much of the rest of CRM we'll use yet.

Thanks, Chris, for letting me know. It seems like if you ever do get
more involved in using CRM you may be crossing into uncharted (at least
for this list) territory.

Judy, We were expecting to use CRM in our current 8.00.810b version (soon to go to .811b tomorrow) however it fell very short of our expectations. Quoting is a painful process and our salesteam did not buy in or take ownership of driving the process. So it "failed". IN 8.03 they made an improvement on the quoting forrm by linking project id to the marketing campaign and event so its an improvement. It still falls short. The future release of Epicor 9 is expected to incorporate the Cliente CRM .NEt application in (At an additional cost of add-on options provided) and is finally promising to be a "real" CRM package. I don't think Vantage will ever be a salesforce.com however they are making attempts to fill this miserable void in their functionality.
Thanks
Rita

I'm trying to get a sales report showing who sold what and how much to whom and what their sales commissions and split rate commissions are on a sale. I used the InvcHead table (along with Customer and other tables with left outer joins) to derive the data. We have complex sales rep/VAR scenarios. I've tried unsuccessfully to create a report to parse out the fields in the InvcHead table.
SalesrepList is a field that stores multiple salesreps (String) with a "~" delimiter. I have tried using the SPLIT(input string) function on the string but not able to successfully split the multiple entries in this field. The reprate, repcomm, repsales are numeric fields are delimited by a ";". I'm not sure which function to use and how to get the data on the report out of these fields row by row instead of in the concatenated format.
The RepSplit field is the most challenging since I cannot even get this on the report without the report coming up with "failed to retrieve data from database" error.
Basic guidance from any report writing experts on the forum showing how to get this data on the report would be much appreciated.
Thx

You can do this with an SQL view, by Splitting and creating a row for
each Rep
