Customer Accounts - Merge or Inactive?

We cannot use National accounts based on how we do discounts. However, I have two locations that have merged or are the same. Can I make one location inactive or somehow merge the two? I have seen topics on reporting linkages, wondering if there’s a best practice to follow or implement. We are still new to our install but with consolidation in the market of our customers we will see this trying to figure out best plan of action.

There is no way to merge two customers. You can remove the Valid Sold to and other flags on the Customer Maintenance screen which will make the customer inactive and not allow any orders to be entered.

You could also change the CustID of the child account so the naming scheme makes the child-parent relationship obvious.

that isn’t a bad idea, we use a 4-digit numeric number so we could do a -2
