Customer Look Up Problem In Quote Entry 407

We saw the same problem after our conversion to 404a. IIRC it was
because the Sales territory was missing in the Customer Master.

Charlie,
I think this problem is similar to one I found in using the search
button
for retrieving PO's. The default is for only 100 entries to be returned,
but
after clicking on "next" many times, there is no improvement in the
number
of items returned. It is as though it has exhasted its searches.
However,
when I increase it to 1000, it returns the entry I am looking for. I was
told that this problem would be fixed in 408. I am currently on 406. In
the
meantime increase the default or manually change it within Options. See
if
this helps.

All,

Our person who generates our quotes in vantage for us has pointed out to
me
that when he does a look up for a customer and sets customer type to all
and
does his search that certain customers aren't showing up in the search
results. However if he goes to customer entry and does the exact same
search
the customer he is looking for will show up in that search. This is
causing
him to enter duplicates of the customer because he thinks the customer
is
not in our system which in turn he later has to fix. Is this a known
issue
if not is anyone else having this problem. It seems to have only
developed
since we upgraded to 407. He never mentioned this to me before.

I can't figure out what the common denominator is that makes certain
customers show up and others to not to.

It seems to be more common in customers of type prospect.

Do you have the CRM module?
This kind of problem was very common for us when we first turned the CRM module on.
I can not recall exactly, but at that time, there were many customers that either did not have a salesperson or territory assigned to them, or something along those lines. We had to run a program to "fix" these customers..I think it might have been territory adjustment or a territory realignment program. Then again, that is assuming you have CRM.

This usually is a "rights" issue when salespersons have been assigned through workforce entry. Make sure the salesperson assigned to that account is set up as an authorized user of themselves and make sure that whover is assigning quotes on their behalf is set up as an authorized user for that salesperson as well

This is even happening on the manager account. Does this rule out rights
issues if we have not restricted the managers account in any way?

I¹d make sure that the Workforce ID assigned to this user has the ability
to see customers in all territories.

No, even as manager you have to be an authorized user of that salesperson
